Brief history of Southampton FC

Southampton FC is the biggest football club at the south coast of England. The club was established in 1885, and plays its home games at the St. Mary’s Stadium, which has a capacity of over 30,000. They will play in the Championship again this season after 11 years. Southampton is known for their attacking football and their successful youth training. The club has created a couple of great talents, like Theo Walcott, Luke Shaw and Gareth Bale.

Southampton won the FA Cup in 1976. The club won few to no prizes except for that one. The club did manage to finish high in the rankings of the Premier League a couple of times, which resulted in competing in European football.


Begin and end Southampton season

Southampton will play their first Championship game on August 4. They’ll face Sheffield Wednesday. The season will finish on the fourth of May with an away game against Leeds United at Elland Road.
